Subnautica 2 Early Access Hotfix 2 Adds Resources and Fixes Tadpole Bugs

What changed in Hotfix 2

The two resource changes are straightforward: the hotfix adds more Silver resource areas in the early-game region and more Troilite resource areas in the late-game region. Treat this as a route-retention update, not permission to publish fixed farm coordinates before current-build testing.

The creature and vehicle change is more important for day-to-day play. Hammerheads are no longer as attracted to Tadpole lights, which should reduce the pattern where a Hammerhead followed players back toward a base while trying to reach the Tadpole.

Bug fixes to recheck

• Occasional teleporting back to base while exploring in a Tadpole.
• Infinite oxygen after dying of hunger or thirst while piloting a Tadpole.
• A crash when losing connection from a multiplayer game.
• A random crash in the late-game region.

These are official fixes, so the known-issues tracker now treats those exact symptoms as Hotfix 2 items. Similar vehicle, oxygen, save-load, or co-op desync reports still need platform, build, host/client role, biome, and reproduction notes before becoming confirmed workarounds.

Performance and policy notes

Hotfix 2 improves performance when using Epic visual settings. That does not close every UE5 performance report, but it gives players on high settings a specific update to test before changing drivers, overlays, or config files.

The same patch adds an English telemetry callout, says analytics can be turned off from settings, and revises sections of the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The game will prompt players to re-accept because of those Terms changes. The Hotfix 2 note also points players to an official FAQ for common policy questions and a fan content creator guidelines page. Hotfix 2 may also take time to roll out worldwide. If a mixed Steam, Xbox, or Windows Store co-op group sees a different-version error right after the patch, check every platform's current build before treating the session as a broken crossplay case.
