About Subnautica 2 Wiki

Subnautica 2 Wiki is an unofficial fan-made resource built to help players follow Early Access launch information, official links, update pages, wiki categories, and practical guides in one place. The site is edited for player decisions: what to buy, where to start, what to build first, and which details are still moving in Early Access.

Site note: This site is independent and is not affiliated with Unknown Worlds Entertainment, Krafton, Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, or Microsoft.

From fans, for fans

Sub2Wiki is a fan project. The reason this site exists is simple: we love Subnautica. The original game pulled us under in 2018, Below Zero kept the obsession alive, and Subnautica 2 is the launch we have been waiting almost five years for. Building a wiki around it is how we celebrate the game and help other players find their way through the same alien ocean we are exploring ourselves.

We are not press, we are not partnered with Unknown Worlds or Krafton, and we do not represent the studio in any way. Every page on this site is written by Subnautica players: people who scan creatures, build bases, run out of oxygen at the wrong moment, and want a clean reference that respects the player's time.

If you are looking for hype, marketing copy, or unsupported leaks, this is not that kind of site. If you want a quiet, accurate, regularly-updated reference written by people who actually play the game, that is what we are trying to build.

What this site covers

Official-first information

Release dates, platform notes, prices, system requirements, and Early Access claims are based on official sources whenever available.

Player-friendly organization

Pages are written to help players find the right answer quickly: download, Game Pass, co-op, updates, wiki topics, and launch planning.

Clear update discipline

Moving gameplay details get a plain source note instead of being padded into a finished-looking database row.

Who maintains this site

The Sub2Wiki team is a small group of long-time Subnautica players who started the site in early 2026 to follow Subnautica 2's road to Early Access. We don't work for Unknown Worlds, we're not press, and we don't speak for the studio. We play the game, read official posts and patch notes, watch the community channels, and rewrite what we find into pages we'd want to read ourselves.

Editorial choices: official facts come from official sources with a link back. Community discussion gets paraphrased in our own words, no usernames quoted. When we do not know something, we keep the advice practical instead of pretending the database is complete. When a page is based on hands-on testing, we mark the build it was tested in.

How a page gets updated

1. Check the source

We start with Unknown Worlds, Steam, Xbox, store pages, patch notes, and clearly attributed public guides before changing factual claims.

2. Turn it into a player decision

A page should answer what the reader should do next: craft, wait, verify in-game, pick a route, or avoid a risky assumption.

3. Keep receipts visible

Major edits are summarized on the updates page, and corrections can be sent by email with the affected URL and source.

We do not publish scraped coordinate dumps, copied recipe tables, or machine-filled creature/item pages. Small pages stay live only when they help a real searcher make a current Early Access decision.

Independence

Subnautica 2 Wiki is operated as a fan-made information site. Game names, images, logos, trademarks, and related materials belong to their respective owners. References to official pages are provided for attribution and reader verification.
